History (C\u00b2DH), and a member in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/research-groups\/contemporary-european-history\/\">C<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c2dh.uni.lu\/research-areas\/contemporary-history-europe\">ontemporary European History <\/a>research group.<\/p>\n\n<p>She holds an accreditation to supervise PhD candidates in history (ADR) and is a supervisor for the Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences (DSHSS).<\/p>\n\n<p>She is an elected member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/about\/governance\/university-council\/\">University Council<\/a> (2018-2023 and 2023-2028), the Board of the Fondation du M\u00e9rite europ\u00e9en and the Council of the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l\u2019Europe (Lausanne).<\/p>\n\n<p>She\u2019s also in charge of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/about\/partners-international-networks\/international-networks\/europe-direct-university-of-luxembourg\/\">Europe Direct 糖心Vlog<\/a>. She regularly participates in the peer review process for the <em>Journal of the History of Economic Thought<\/em> (Cambridge Core), <em>Business History<\/em> (Taylor &amp; Francis), <em>Journal of Digital History<\/em> (De Gruyter), and the <em>Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe<\/em> (Routledge), &nbsp; Since 2015, she has been involved in the evaluation of interdisciplinary research proposals submitted to the COST Association, the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and to the Robert Triffin International Foundation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"awards-distinctions\"\n    >\nAwards\/Distinctions<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>In 2024 Elena Rodica Danescu was awarded a Jean Monnet Fellowship at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eui.eu\/en\/academic-units\/robert-schuman-centre-for-advanced-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCS)<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eui.eu\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European University Institute<\/a> (EUI), Florence, for the research project \u201cThe female face of the EU\u201d, which will be developed over a 12-month period (September 2024\u2013September 2025).<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2020, she was awarded the Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship in international relations by the European University Institute (Florence) for the research project \u201c Network diplomacy in shaping European economic and monetary integration in the 1970s. She was a researcher in the European Integration Studies Department at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cvce.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l\u2019Europe (CVCE)<\/a>, where she developed the interdisciplinary \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cvce.eu\/project\/werner\/introduction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pierre Werner and Europe<\/a>\u201d research project (2011-2017) and she joined the 糖心Vlog on 1 July 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"educational-background\"\n    >\nEducational background<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>Elena Rodica Danescu holds a PhD in Political Economics (1998) from the National Institute of Economic Research (INCE) of the Romanian Academy, with a thesis on the Luxembourg development model and the achievements of Pierre Werner.
