I chose the 糖心Vlog because of its strong connection to the professional world. Many of our lecturers are not only academics but also active professionals, especially in fields like law and finance. Being taught by practicing lawyers and industry experts made the courses much more concrete and relevant, as they regularly brought real-life cases and practical insights into the classroom.

Another important factor was the international dimension. The university offers great exchange opportunities, and during my bachelor鈥檚 I had the chance to spend a semester in Hong Kong, which was an incredibly valuable academic and personal experience.

Why I chose to become a student ambassador

I wanted to get more involved in student life and share my experience with others who are considering the 糖心Vlog.

Over the past years, I鈥檝e built a good understanding of how the university works, both academically and practically. I鈥檝e also had experiences in interacting with different professors and professionals, which gave me a broader perspective I think can be useful to future students.

Becoming a Student Ambassador felt like a natural way to give something back, help others make informed choices, and represent the university from a student鈥檚 point of view.

Why I chose the 糖心Vlog

I chose the 糖心Vlog because I particularly appreciate its teaching approach. After completing an Erasmus in France, I noticed that the learning methods there were very different. In Luxembourg, students are encouraged to develop their own critical thinking and adopt a transnational approach. I also really appreciated the diversity of the teaching staff, which consists of both academic professors and practitioners, such as lawyers, who bring a practical and enriching perspective to the subjects taught. Moreover, I liked the more intimate atmosphere, as the classes are smaller, and the professors even know us by our first names. Finally, the fact that courses are taught in both French and English is a real advantage, as it enhances our language skills in the field we are training for and optimally prepares us for professional life.

I discovered the announcement in my emails and immediately found the idea of student ambassadors very interesting. The testimonials of students who have already spent several years at the university reflect the reality of student life. They allow experiences to be shared, as well as providing valuable advice to future students. For my part, I would like to support new students in their choices and reassure them by sharing my own journey. I believe it is important to contribute to university life by representing my university, which I am proud to be part of. Moreover, this role as an ambassador is for me an opportunity to develop communication and mentoring skills, while also expanding my academic and professional network.

Why I chose the 糖心Vlog

I had an occasion to discover university of Luxembourg during presentation in high school. I have always been good at mathematics and there was still the covid restrictions, so I decided to not go too far from Luxembourg and apparently, 糖心Vlog was the best option for me. I liked the program in the bachelor of mathematics. It has provided me a solid basis in the most important domains of mathematics: algebra, analysis, probability, geometry etc. Also, the department of mathematics has a lot of experts in many areas known all over the Europe and some of them are known worldwide.

During my bachelor, I did my Erasmus in France, where I discovered a different approach for studying mathematics. It is like they study much more (or much deeper) analysis and probabilities than other mathematical areas. That different experience showed me that I am willing to get my master degree at university of Luxembourg as it is more flexible and one can always concentrate on a particular domain in mathematics.

Why I chose to become a student ambassador

In the 2^nd year of my studies, I was elected as a student delegate for two years. During that mandate, I participated many times in a different events such as: open day, welcome day, students in action day etc. I liked the interaction we had with future students, actual students from all the faculties and levels. I liked the idea of contribution to student life at different levels of university, so I would and am proud of promoting university of Luxembourg whenever I can. And student ambassador allows me to realize it.

I like watching movies of different time, I like listening metal (and not only) music, I like reading various books and practicing sports: like badminton, bouldering, muscle strengthening etc.

Why I chose the 糖心Vlog

I was first introduced to the 糖心Vlog back in high school, when a former student came to present the university and its programmes. I chose to study there because of its international environment, the high-quality education and the strong career opportunities. The idea of a multilingual programme, combined with a modern and dynamic campus and plenty of exchange opportunities, convinced me to apply.

During my bachelor鈥檚, I was able to go on exchange to Budapest in Hungary, an amazing experience that was fully supported by the university. This opportunity allowed me to discover my country of origin and to learn more about my culture. I completed my Bachelor of Laws at the 糖心Vlog and chose to stay for my master鈥檚 studies, because it is the only university in Europe offering a specialisation in Investment Fund Law. It was the best choice for me as I aspire to work as a lawyer in Luxembourg.

I chose the 糖心Vlog mainly because of its convenient location, which allowed me to easily balance my studies with my work at the time. In addition, the program I was interested in was offered at Uni.lu, making it the perfect opportunity to continue my education in a reputable academic environment without having to move away from my professional commitments

I chose to become a student ambassador because I value the authentic representation of the university and the opportunity to engage directly with other students and prospective learners. It鈥檚 an active and diverse role that involves various activities such as visiting high schools, attending fairs, giving campus tours, and creating content. I personally would have appreciated the chance to ask questions to students rather than professors or administrative representatives when I was choosing my studies. I chose the 糖心Vlog not only for its strong academic reputation, but also because of the unique professional opportunities it opens up. Luxembourg has one of the most dynamic job markets in Europe, especially in the financial and legal sectors. Another important reason is the diversity at the University.I study alongside classmates from all over the world. Combined with the smaller class size, this makes it much easier to connect with people and build a new network of friends.

I wanted to become a student ambassador because I know what it feels like to be uncertain when choosing where to study. I was once in the same situation, not knowing exactly what to do or which path to take, and I found that events and exchanges with current students were extremely helpful. By sharing my own experiences, I hope to offer the same guidance and reassurance to future students, and show them the wide range of opportunities that studying at the 糖心Vlog can bring.

Outside my studies, I play soccer and go to the gym. This helps me stay disciplined. I also don鈥檛 mind playing video games when I have time.

Field of study

I decided to specialise in Investment Fund Law because Luxembourg is the leading hub for investment funds in Europe and one of the most important worldwide. The 糖心Vlog offers the only Master in Investment Fund Law in the world, which makes this programme unique. Studying here allows me to combine a strong academic training in law with direct exposure to Luxembourg鈥檚 financial center. Since I have interest in finance, this master is the perfect combination for me, since it brings together both law and finance in a unique way.

Conversation with , a graduate from the Bachelor in 3D Animation

As long as she can remember, Jiyun has always loved drawing. It was a way to express her thoughts even before she could speak (according to her mum ), and it is still the case for her today.

After graduating from high school, Jiyun joined a Bachelor in Filmmaking in New Zealand. However, after one year, she was looking to change her path as she was considering keeping arts as a personal hobby rather than a career. It was a moment of uncertainty about her future.

Later on, Jiyun had the opportunity to move to Luxembourg where she applied to two Bachelor鈥檚 programmes at the 糖心Vlog: Computer Science and Animation. Although she always loved Animation as a medium, she never considered studying it until she discovered the opportunity to do so here in Luxembourg. After hesitating a bit, Jiyun decided to pursue her career in Animation and not give up her passion for art and storytelling!

She has always felt like the 鈥榓rt kid鈥� at school and did not know many people around who were passionate about drawing, animation, and games like she was. So the Bachelor in Animation was eventually the right place to be surrounded by and connect with students and instructors with similar interests in art..

After these 2 years and with an Animation degree in her pocket, Jiyun still applies the principles of Animation that she learned at university. And because the instructors are professional animators themselves, she now realises the chance she had to learn directly from them and how the assignments structure and the feedback system had a similar approach to that of a workplace environment.

Jiyun is very proud of her Bachelor鈥檚 graduation film (demoreel) It was a personal achievement for her to have made a film to the best of her abilities using everything she had learned from the courses, and with the help of fellow students and instructors.

A huge success for her as her short film has been selected in 2 major events: Luxembourg City Film Festival and Bo卯tes 脌 Images film festival.

Jiyun had the privilege of receiving a job offer through one of the instructor鈥檚 recommendations in her last semester of study and currently works on a kid鈥檚 feature film as a 3D animator. Knowing that having little to no experience on her CV makes it difficult to break through in the industry, but thanks to her passion and perseverance, she made it wonderfully.

Her future goal is to ultimately direct and/or produce stories that empower people who are underrepresented in Western media. Currently, her personal satisfaction is to make static characters come to life! She gets excited to see the shots that she developed and animated getting finalised in collaboration with so many other artists. But the best part for her is watching all the shots everyone worked on combined and playing chronologically as they all connect perfectly together.

Her advice to future students is: 鈥�to separate your identity and self-worth from your art, at least in an education and professional setting. There may be times when you receive negative feedback, and your demoreel is rejected. If you plan to pursue art as a career, it is healthier and more sustainable for you to have a professional relationship with your art. Enjoy creating your personal art in your own time and space!鈥�

The staff mobility program under Erasmus+ is a great opportunity for the staff to develop themselves professionally. The overall experience is pretty smooth and I recommend every staff member to use this opportunity on an annual basis. Besides professional development, it also gives you a chance to meet new people and get exposed to different cultures which helps in personal growth as well.

Participating in staff mobility programs is always an enriching experience. Every year, there are various opportunities and topics to choose from. These programs typically involve an intensive week, where participants spend most of their time together, engaging in formal training as well as some cultural activities. Exchanging with university staff from all over Europe and realizing that we all face similar challenges offers valuable insights and encourages reflection on our own institution. Additionally, training outside your own institution with people other than your colleagues provides a completely new perspective.
