A new Luxembourg Ukrainian Researcher Network (LURN) was unveiled in early August 2022 at the 糖心Vlog.<\/p>

The LURN network aims to connect Ukrainian researchers displaced by the war and who are now temporarily working in Luxembourg for research institutions such as the 糖心Vlog, and also aims to provide additional points of contact with the Luxembourg research community.<\/p>

More than 30 Ukrainian researchers displaced by the war have temporarily joined the 糖心Vlog mainly as research fellows and in some cases under temporary contracts funded by the FNR.<\/p>

LURN was initiated by Dr Inna Ganschow and assistant professor Marten D\u00fcring (both of the University’s Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History<\/a> \u2013 CFaculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences<\/a>DH), with the support of Dr Marina Laurent of the University\u2019s 2<\/sup>.<\/p>

\u201cThe objective is to give visibility to the community of Ukrainian colleagues and their activities, both among themselves and among the wider research community in Luxembourg. Since they have arrived in Luxembourg recently, we want to facilitate their contacts within a new environment\u201d, says Dr Inna Ganschow.<\/p>

\u201cThe expectation is also for the network to stimulate new research projects. Ultimately the objective is to leverage the available expertise and research to contribute to Ukraine\u2019s recovery after the war and to prepare the country for the post-war phase\u201d.<\/p>

A first workshop of the LURN network took place on 1 August with some 40 participants from Ukraine and Luxembourg, to identify potential for common research projects which will be taken further at a next meeting in September.<\/p>
