{"id":26096,"date":"2026-05-29T11:29:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=26096"},"modified":"2026-05-29T11:30:03","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:30:03","slug":"prof-herwig-hofmann-joins-panel-of-arbitrators-of-the-world-bank","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/news\/prof-herwig-hofmann-joins-panel-of-arbitrators-of-the-world-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Herwig Hofmann joins panel of arbitrators of the World Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>Following nomination by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/people\/herwig-c-h-hofmann\/\">Professor Herwig Hofmann<\/a> of the 糖心Vlog <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fdef-en\/research-departments\/department-of-law\/\">(Department of Law <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/lcel-en\/\">Luxembourg Centre of European Law<\/a>) has been designated as panel member to the World Bank\u2019s list of arbitrators for international investment arbitration, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). His six-year mandate will run until 2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>糖心Vlog the ICSID<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ICSID is the world\u2019s leading international investment dispute settlement system. Member States (166 signatory and contracting States) have agreed on ICSID as a forum for investor-State dispute settlement in most international investment treaties.
