Concevoir de meilleurs mat\u00e9riaux pour les batteries reste cependant un processus complexe et lent. Les chercheurs passent des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 tester de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux, pour ne d\u00e9couvrir des d\u00e9fauts critiques qu&rsquo;\u00e0 un stade avanc\u00e9, souvent apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9j\u00e0 investi des ressources consid\u00e9rables. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-spacer is-spacer-size-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"allier-lia-et-des-simulations-basees-sur-la-physique\"\n    >\nAllier l&rsquo;IA et des simulations bas\u00e9es sur la physique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Une nouvelle approche d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par le professeur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/people\/alexandre-tkatchenko\/\">Alexandre Tkatchenko<\/a> combine l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle et des simulations reposant sur la physique afin d&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer consid\u00e9rablement la d\u00e9couverte et l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux pour batteries. La plateforme \u00ab BATMAT \u00bb, en cours de d\u00e9veloppement, vient de recevoir une subvention \u00ab Proof of Concept \u00bb de l&rsquo;ERC et permettra de passer au crible un grand nombre de mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s dans les syst\u00e8mes rechargeables, notamment des \u00e9lectrolytes solides et des composantsd&rsquo;\u00e9lectrodes. Elle identifie les candidats les plus prometteurs en fonction de leur stabilit\u00e9, de leur mobilit\u00e9 ionique et de leur r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la d\u00e9gradation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-quote-people\">\n    <div class=\"quote-people\" role=\"group\">\n        <figure class=\"quote-people__body\">\n            <blockquote class=\"quote-people__blockquote\">\n    <span class=\"quote-people__quote\">\u201f<\/span>\n    <em> L&rsquo;Europe a grand besoin d&rsquo;efforts cibl\u00e9s pour valoriser sa science de pointe. BATMAT d\u00e9veloppera une plateforme pour la conception de nouveaux \u00e9lectrolytes solides destin\u00e9s aux batteries grand public. La&nbsp;plateforme&nbsp;fonctionne&nbsp;en&nbsp;boucle&nbsp;ferm\u00e9e :&nbsp;des&nbsp;mod\u00e8les&nbsp;d&rsquo;IA&nbsp;proposent&nbsp;et&nbsp;\u00e9valuent&nbsp;rapidement&nbsp;des&nbsp;mat\u00e9riaux&nbsp;prometteurs,&nbsp;tandis&nbsp;que&nbsp;les&nbsp;candidats&nbsp;les plus&nbsp;int\u00e9ressantssont&nbsp;automatiquement&nbsp;transmis&nbsp;\u00e0 des simulations physiques plus&nbsp;d\u00e9taill\u00e9es&nbsp;pour&nbsp;v\u00e9rification.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le&nbsp;syst\u00e8me&nbsp;devrait&nbsp;prendre des&nbsp;d\u00e9cisions&nbsp;environ 100&nbsp;fois&nbsp;plus&nbsp;rapidement&nbsp;que&nbsp;les&nbsp;approches&nbsp;conventionnelles, sans&nbsp;compromettre&nbsp;la&nbsp;pr\u00e9cision&nbsp;scientifique. \u00ab Pour la recherche sur les batteries,&nbsp;o\u00f9&nbsp;une&nbsp;seule&nbsp;simulation&nbsp;peut&nbsp;prendre&nbsp;plusieurs&nbsp;semaines,&nbsp;voire&nbsp;des&nbsp;ann\u00e9es,&nbsp;c&rsquo;est&nbsp;un changement&nbsp;majeur&nbsp;pour la&nbsp;d\u00e9carbonisation&nbsp;de&nbsp;notre&nbsp;soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00bb,&nbsp;explique&nbsp;le&nbsp;professeur&nbsp;Tkatchenko.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour y parvenir, le projet s&rsquo;appuie sur la puissance de calcul du centre de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/research-en\/core-facilities\/hpc\/\">High Performance Computing (HPC)<\/a> de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Luxembourg, ainsi que sur le supercalculateur national <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxprovide.lu\/meluxina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MeluXina<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En anticipant les risques de d\u00e9faillance, BATMAT vise \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les phases d&rsquo;essais et d&rsquo;erreurs co\u00fbteuses et \u00e0 acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer le d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes de stockage d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie plus s\u00fbrs et plus durables.
