He is the head of the Systems Ecology group and holds affiliations to the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine and the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, and is a fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies. In 2024, Paul was a Visiting Professor at Stanford University.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"research\"\n    >\nResearch<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>Paul&#8217;s research focuses on elucidating the function of complex microbial communities in situ. He pioneered functional omic analyses of microbial consortia and his group has developed new wet- and dry-lab methods for in situ microbiome studies. He presented his group&#8217;s research at more than 200 scientific events worldwide and has published more than 180 peer-reviewed publications. These media outlets published content based on the research from my laboratory.
