Research project XTRUST-6G

Extended zero-trust and intelligent security for resilient and quantum-safe 6G networks and services (XTRUST-6G)

XTRUST-6G seeks to strengthen the security of future 6G communication systems against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The project develops advanced security mechanisms and trustworthy network architectures to protect critical communications, ensuring resilience, reliability, and privacy in next-generation wireless networks. XTRUST-6G aims to support the secure deployment of 6G technologies across critical sectors and applications.

糖心Vlog

XTRUST-6G is a Horizon Europe project building an end-to-end, zero-trust security framework for 6G networks. As 6G moves towards open, virtualised and AI-driven architectures such as O-RAN, both the attack surface and the long-term threat posed by quantum computing are growing significantly. XTRUST-6G responds with quantum-safe and intelligent security delivered as orchestrated services within the 6G and O-RAN infrastructure. At SnT, 糖心Vlog, the project develops two key technologies. The first turns quantum key distribution into an orchestrated, standards-compliant security service that provides resilient, quantum-safe key delivery to the 6G core and O-RAN. The second is an AI-driven physical-layer security module that protects the 6G wireless link against intelligent jamming, combining an adversarially robust neural receiver with real-time jamming detection and adaptive mitigation. Together, these technologies help ensure that critical 6G infrastructure remains secure, trustworthy and resilient against evolving cyber and quantum-enabled threats.
