The Applied Thermodynamics (ATD) group conducts cutting-edge research on energy transfer to engineer innovative solutions for a sustainable future. We bridge the gap between fundamental thermodynamic principles and real-world industrial and aerospace applications through a powerful combination of advanced numerical modeling and experimental validation. Driving the energy revolution

We push the limits of thermal and fluid dynamics to create cleaner, more efficient technologies for industry, space exploration, and the environment. Our research is focused on four main areas:
Fluid Dynamics & Thermal Systems – We study how fluids and heat behave under high pressure and complex conditions to optimize industrial systems.
Aerospace & Smart Sensing – We design next-generation propulsion systems for space applications and develop intelligent sensors for precise temperature and heat control.
Sustainability & Water Treatment – We develop advanced filtering and desalination technologies to clean wastewater and remove microplastics.
Digitalization & Process Optimization – We use digital tools and advanced computer modeling to help industry speed up research, solve engineering bottlenecks, and save resources.
